She studied at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. She was the first female contender for the Grand Prix de Rome for medal engraving. She won the Grand Prix de Rome for sculpture in 1919. Mouroux won a gold medal at the ?cole des Beaux-Arts and a silver medal at the Salon de Artistes Fran?ais. She died in 1978.

Paul-Marcel Dammann, sculptor and medallist was born on June 13, 1885, at Montgerm. He studied under Chaplain. In 1908 he won the Premier Grand Prix de Rome for medal engraving. In 1928 he won a medal of honor at the Salon and was made a Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in the following year. He designed a number of coins for foreign governments. Dammann died in 1939.

Raoul Bénard was born on 30 September, 1881. He studied under the sculptor Coutan and the medallists Chaplain and Vernon. In 1911 he won the Prix de Rome for medal engraving and, in 1922, a silver medal at the Salon des Artistes Français, followed by a gold medal two years later. He was later made a Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur. Bénard died in 1961.

Sorry, SOLD (April, 2023) ————– Antonio di Puccio Pisano, called Pisanello was born in Pisa around 1395. He died in Rome around 1455. An artist of great talent, he is credited with the introduction of the Renaissance medal. He regarded himself foremost as a painter, signing his medals as such (e.g. Opus Pisani Pictoris [The work of Pisanello the painter]). Although many artists began creating medals soon after Pisanello introduced this new medium, his medals are generally regarded as the finest of the period.
