She studied under Mlle Genevi?ve Granger, Mlle Darbefeille and Georges R?cipon. She exhibited four plaquettes in 1905 at the Salon des Artistes Fran?ais and several medals in 1906 and at the 1924 Olympics. She was the daughter of fencing master Charles Gustave Robert and wife of another, ?mile M?rignac. Her nephew Lucien M?rignac won the gold medal in the 1900 Olympic Foil Masters event. Robert-M?rignac, died at Paris on February 28 1933.

He studied under Louis-Ernest Barrias, Fran?ois-L?on Sicard and Jules Coutan at l’?cole des Beaux-Arts de Paris. In 1908 he won the premier prix de Rome in sculpture. Raymond Tschudin was born in Champigny-sur-Marne on November 2 1916. He was the son of a medalist and came early to his profession. He studied under Henry Dropsy at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. In 1945 he won the Grand Prix de Rome for medal engraving and studied at the Villa Medicis from 1946 to 1949. He was the creator of a large number of medals, many of which have religious themes. Tschudin died at Provins on November 28 1998

1936, France. PAUL BOYER, Professor of Russian, administrator of the School of Oriental Languages. By Pierre Turin (1891-1968, Grand Prix de Rome in 1920). Bronze 68mm. $100.

Pierre Turin was born in Sucy-en-Brie (Val-de-Marne) on 3 August, 1891. He trained as a steel engraver and became a student at the École Nationale Supèrieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. He studied medal engraving under Henri Auguste Jules Patey and Fréderic-Charles Victor de Vernon. He participated several times in the competition for the Grand Prix de Rome for medal engraving, receiving a deuxième second Grand Prix in 1914, a premier second Grand Prix in 1919 and finally winning the competition in 1920. He had a distinguished career as a medalist and designer of coins.  He is noted for his many works with a bold, Art Deco style, in particular the prize medal from the 1925 Exposition Internationale Des Arts Decoratifs Et Industriels Moderns in Paris. In 1938 he was made a Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur. Turin died on July 25, 1968 in Sucy-en-Brie, where he had been born.
