Sorry, SOLD (March, 2022) ———– Marcel-Armand Gaumont was born at Tours on January 27 1880. He studied under Louis-Ernest Barrias, Fran?ois-L?on Sicard and Jules Coutan at l’?cole des Beaux-Arts de Paris. In 1908 he won the premier prix de Rome in sculpture. While at the Villa M?dicis at l?Acad?mie de France in Rome (1909-1912), he was under the tutelage of the painter Carolus-Duran. Following the end of World War I, he executed a number of war memorials. Beginning in 1920 he made models for S?vres. Gaumont exhibited regularly at the Salon of the Soci?t? des artistes Fran?ais ? Paris where he won a gold medal in 1935. He was awarded the grand prix du jury at International Exposition in Paris in 1937. In 1938 he was made an officier de la L?gion d’Honneur and in the following year he was appointed as a professor at l??cole des beaux-arts de Paris. In 1944 he was elected to l?Acad?mie des Beaux-Arts. Gaumont died in Paris on November 20 1962
