Marcel Renard, sculptor and medallist was born at Lyon in 1892. He studied at the ?cole des Beaux-Art de Lyon and then at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. He spent time in the ateliers of Boucher and Patey. In 1923 he won the Premier Second Prix de Rome and a gold medal at the Salon des Artistes D?corateurs. He died in 1974.

Vernon studied at the ?cole des Arts D?coratifs and at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, under Jules Coutan and Hippolyte Jules Lef?bvre. He first exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Fran?ais in 1922 and won a silver medal in 1924 and a gold medal in 1936. Vernon worked primarily as a sculptor, but created medals, including his famous series of medals depicting scenes from Jean de la Fontaine’s Fables. He died in Paris on September 9, 1975.

She was the daughter of fencing master Charles Gustave Robert and wife of another, ?mile M?rignac. Her nephew Lucien M?rignac won the gold medal in the 1900 Olympic Foil Masters event. Robert-M?rignac, died at Paris on February 28 1933.
