Cast bronze uniface plaquette 123mm x 113mm with two screws mounted on its reverse. $125. ———- Michel Jampolsky was born in Kiev on December 13, 1874. He moved to France and became a naturalized citizen. He studied medal engraving under Daniel-Dupuis, Rasumny and Ponscarme. He won honorable mentions in 1897 and 1900 at the Salon des Artistes Fran?ais. Jampolski died sometime after 1958.

Slight die crack on the reverse, couple of minor spots. $90. Sorry, SOLD (October, 2020) ————— Ferdinand de Saint-Urbain was born at Nancy on June 30, 1658 (or possibly 1654), the son of Claude Augustin de Saint-Urbain, a goldsmith and engraver. In 1673 he was appointed Mint-engraver at Bologna. In 1683 he moved to Rome, where he was appointed Chief engraver by Innocent XI. He returned to Nancy in 1704 and was appointed as Engraver at the mint there in 1797. He created over 120 medals, most of which have a distinctive border, such as that on this medal. Saint-Urbain died in Nancy on January 10, 1738.

He exhibited at the salon beginning in 1894. He won an honorable mention in 1901 and a third class medal in 1904. In 1905 he became a Soci?taire des Artistes Fran?ais and a Chevalier de la L?gion d?Honneur.

France. MUSIC AWARD. By Claude Mascaux. Bronze 50mm. Cased. $175. ———— L?on-Claude Mascaux was born in Saine-Germain-en-Lay (Yvelines) on June 13, 1882, He studied under the sculptors Landowski and Bouchard. He first exhibited at the Salon of the Soci?t? des Beaux Arts in 1921. In 1924 he won a medal in the artistic competion of the Olumpic Games. In the following year he won a Grand Prix at the Exposition des Arts D?oratifs et Industriels Moderns for a series seven sports-themed medals. Unlike his contemporaries, he eschewed the reducing machine and cut his models directly into the plaster in the actual size of his intended medals. His medals typically reflect a strong Art Deco style. Mascaux died at Fontainebleau on March 8, 1965.

Georges Baudry (who went by L?on-Georges), was born at Neuville-les-Dieppe on March 13 1898. His father, L?on-Auguste was a sculptor of ivory. L?on-Georges studied at l’?cole des Arts D?coratifs, where he was a student under Raoul Verlet and Henri-Auguste-Jules Patey. In 1920 he entered l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts. In 1923 he won a Second grand prix de Rome with ?Une muse remettant ? Apollon le couteau pour ?gorger Marsyas.? He created many works in the art deco style, including monuments and architectural decorations. He served as the director of manufacturing at the Sevres factory form 1948 to 1963 and is credited with reviving the fortunes of the company. Baudry died in Paris on November 24 1978.

She was accepted into the l??cole Nationale Sup?rieur des Beaux-Arts at Paris, where she studied engraving under Patey and Dammann and sculpture under Sicard and Bouchard. She won the first Grand Prix de Rome in 1929. Guzman-Nagotte died in 1978.
