Light bump on the top left corner, some slight spots. $300. ———— Pierre-Charles Lenoir (1879-1953) studied under his father, Charles Lenoir, a sculptor, and under Peter, Roty and Mercier. He first exhibited at the Salon in 1903. Lenoir created numerous monuments and an extensive body of medals.

Sorry, SOLD (May, 2020) ——– ?tienne Victor Exbrayat, sculptor, engraver and medallist was born at Saint-?tienne on May 12 1879. He received an honorable mention at the Salon des artistes fran?ais in 1904 and received a troisi?me m?daille in 1911. Exbrayrat became a member of la Soci?t? des artistes fran?ais in 1905. Following the outbreak of World War I, he was made a corporal in the 16e r?giment d’infanterie, he died of battle wounds at the ch?teau de Bains at Boulogne-la-Grasse on October 1914.

He studied under the sculptors Landowski and Bouchard. He first exhibited at the Salon of the Soci?t? des Beaux Arts in 1921 and won a bronze medal in 1924. In the following year he won a Grand Prix at the Exposition des Arts D?oratifs et Industriels Moderns. Unlike his contemporaries, he eschewed the reducing machine and cut his models directly into the plaster in the actual size of his intended medals. His medals typically reflect a strong Art Deco style.

Sorry, SOLD ———– Pierre Turin was born in Sucy-en-Brie (Val-de-Marne) on 3 August 1891. He trained as a steel engraver and became a student at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. He studied medal engraving under Henri Auguste Jules Patey and Fr?deric-Charles Victor de Vernon. He participated several times in the competition for the Grand Prix de Rome for medal engraving, receiving a Duexi?me second Grand Prix in 1914, a Premier second Grand Prix in 1919 and finally winning the completion in 1920. He had a distinguished career as a medalist and designer of coins. He is noted for his many works with a bold, Art Deco style, in particular the prize medal from the 1925 Exposition Internationale Des Arts Decoratifs Et Industriels Moderns in Paris. In 1938 he was made a Chevalier of the L?gion d?Honneur. Turin died in 1968

He studied drawing under Bernard Naudin and developed techniques as a skilled engraver. He eschewed modern medal making methods. Instead of creating larger models to be reduced by machine, he chose the more traditional method of creating his designs in their intended size. Rivaud died in 1951.
