Georges-Henri Prud?homme (1873-1947),sculptor and medallist a student at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieure des Beaux Arts, where he studied engraving under Alph?e Dubois and sculpture under Falgui?re. He exhibited at the salon beginning in 1894. He won an honorable mention in 1901 and a third class medal in 1904. In 1905 he became a Soci?taire des Artistes Fran?ais and a Chevalier de la L?gion d?Honneur.

Ernesta Robert-M?rignac, sculptor and medallist was born at Saint-Omer on August 25 1849. She studied under Mlle Genevi?ve Granger, Mlle Darbefeille and Georges R?cipon. She exhibited four plaquettes in 1905 at the Salon des Artistes Fran?ais and several medals in 1906 and at the 1924 Olympics. She was the daughter of fencing master Charles Gustave Robert and wife of another, ?mile M?rignac. Her nephew Lucien M?rignac won the gold medal in the 1900 Olympic Foil Masters event. Robert-M?rignac, died at Paris on February 28 1933.

Raoul Eug?ne Lamourdedieu (1877-1953) was born at Faugerolles (Lot-et-Garonne). He studied at the ?cole des Beaux Arts at Bordeaux. He won the Prix de la Ville de Bordeaux at the age of twenty. He moved to Paris and studied at the ?cole des Beaux Arts. Be became a professor at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieure des Beaux-Arts, a member of La Soci?t? Nationale des Beaux-Arts and of the Salon d?Automne. He created numerous medals and sculpture in carved wood and other materials.

By Claude Mascaux. Bronze 50mm. OBV: A nude female seated and playing a flute, REV: A wreath of roses. $175. Sorry, SOLD (October, 2019). ———– L?on-Claude Mascaux was born in Saine-Germain-en-Lay (Yvelines) on June 13 1882, He studied under the sculptors Landowski and Bouchard. He first exhibited at the Salon of the Soci?t? des Beaux Arts in 1921. In 1924 he won a medal in the artistic comptetion of the Olumpic Games. In the following year he won a Grand Prix at the Exposition des Arts D?oratifs et Industriels Moderns for a series seven sports-themed medals. Unlike his contemporaries, he eschewed the reducing machine and cut his models directly into the plaster in the actual size of his intended medals. His medals typically reflect a strong Art Deco style. Mascaux died at Fontainebleau on March 8 1965.

France. EXALTATION DE LA FLEUR. By Pierre Turin (1891-1968, Grand Prix de Rome in 1920). Uniface bronze 87mm x 77mm. Cat. Gen. vol 3 383/J. Lightly cleaned and bumped on its top left corner. It has more of a golden color than suggested by pictures $500. ——– Pierre Turin was born in Sucy-en-Brie (Val-de-Marne) on 3 August 1891. He trained as a steel engraver and became a student at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. He studied medal engraving under Henri Auguste Jules Patey and Fr?deric-Charles Victor de Vernon. He participated several times in the competition for the Grand Prix de Rome for medal engraving, receiving a deuxi?me second Grand Prix in 1914, a premier second Grand Prix in 1919 and finally winning the competition in 1920. He had a distinguished career as a medalist and designer of coins. He is noted for his many works with a bold, Art Deco style, in particular the prize medal from the 1925 Exposition Internationale Des Arts Decoratifs Et Industriels Moderns in Paris. In 1938 he was made a Chevalier of the L?gion d?Honneur. Turin died in 1968.

The exact date of his death is unknown, probably some time after the 1930s.
