Sorry, SOLD (January, 2023). ———– F?lix Rasumny sculptor and medallist was born at Sebastapol in 1869 and was naturalized in France. He was a student of Millet, Gauthier and Tasset. He began exhibiting at the Salon in 1889 and becase a Soci?taire des Artistes Fran?ais in 1907. He became a Chevalier of the L?gion d?Honneur in 1933. Rasumny died in 1940.

?Plimmer?s? or ?Noah?s? Ark was a building constructed by John Plimmer out of the hulk of a ship the ?Inconstant,? which was wrecked off Wellington. In its new incarnation, it served as a wharf and warehouse. It was nicknamed for its appearance to an Ark. A Bank of New Zealand Building was eventually constructed on the site. Some timbers were salvaged and made into a chair for the bank?s director.

She holds a wreath in an outstretched hand and supports a male, holding a lighted torch, on her shoulder. Van Alfen 35. In its original case (very scarce thus). Very weak hinge on the case. $175. Chaplain was born at Mortagne in 1839. He entered the Ecole nationale superieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 1857. He studied under the Sculptor Jouffroy and Eugene-Andre Oudine, the medallist. He won the first prize at the Concours de Rome in 1862. He studied in Italy from 1864 to? 1868. He was elected to the Academie des Beaux-Arts in 1881 and became an officer of the Legion d’Honneur in 1888. He died in 1909.?
