In 1929 he won the second prix de Rome in medal engraving and in 1932 won the premier prix de Rome. Muller died at Antony in 1957.

France. HEAD OF A SATYR. By Pierre Turin (1891-1968. Grand Prix de Rome in 1920). Uniface studio model. Cast iron 120mm x 120mm. $525. Sorry, SOLD. ——– Pierre Turin was born in Sucy-en-Brie (Val-de-Marne) on 3 August 1891. He trained as a steel engraver and became a student at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. He studied medal engraving under Henri Auguste Jules Patey and Fr?deric-Charles Victor de Vernon. He participated several times in the competition for the Grand Prix de Rome for medal engraving, receiving a duexi?me second Grand Prix in 1914, a premier second Grand Prix in 1919 and finally winning the competition in 1920. He had a distinguished career as a medalist and designer of coins. He is noted for his many works with a bold, Art Deco style, in particular the prize medal from the 1925 Exposition Internationale Des Arts Decoratifs Et Industriels Moderns in Paris. In 1938 he was made a Chevalier of the L?gion d?Honneur. Turin died in 1968.

Sorry, SOLD. ———- Fran?ois-Paul (Paul) Niclausse was born on May 26 1879 at Metz (then annexed to the German Empire following the Franco-Prussian Wat). He studied at the ?cole des Beaux-Arts de Paris under Ponscarme and Gabriele-Jules Thomas and later joined the faculty as a professor. He was elected as a member of the Acad?mie des Beaux-Arts and became a Soci?taire of the Salon des Artistes Fran?ais, where he received an honorable mention in 1898 and a bronze medal in 1900. Niclausse was eventually made a chevalier de la L?gion d’honneur. He died at Paris on November 1 1958.

He studied at the ?cole des Beaux-Art de Lyon and then at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. He spent time in the ateliers of Boucher and Patey. In 1923 he won the Premier Second Prix de Rome and a gold medal at the Salon des Artistes D?corateurs. Renard died in 1974
