F?lix Rasumny sculptor and medallist was born at Sebastapol in 1869 and was naturalized in France. He was a student of Millet, Gauthier and Tasset. He began exhibiting at the Salon in 1889 and becase a Soci?taire des Artistes Fran?ais in 1907. He became a Chevalier of the L?gion d?Honneur in 1933. Rasumny died in 1940.

1952, France. THE LAUNCHING OF THE “ANTILLES.” By Raymond Delamarre (1890-1986). Bronze 54mm. Obv: A native female and European female watching a departing sailing ship. Rev: The ship on a background of various animals and plants. $50.
Raymond Delamarre was born in Paris on June 8, 1890. He studied under his father, an engraver, and under Jules Coutan at l’École des beaux-arts de Paris. He was also a student of Rodin. He was mobilized in World War I and was wounded and captured in 1914. He returned to Paris following the war and won the first Grand Prize de Rome for Sculpture in 1919. He exhibited at the international expositions of 1925, 1931 and 1937. Delamarre is noted for large scale sculptures, and a bas-relief, Les Arts et Monuments Régionau on the liner ‘Normandie.” He created a large body of medals and plaquettes. Delamarre died on February 28, 1986. Delamarre’s works, including his medals are discussed and illustrated in RAYMOND DELAMARRE, Sculpteur et Médailleur By Claire Maingon. Rennes, 1924

Ernesta Robert-M?rignac, sculptor and medallist was born at Saint-Omer on August 25 1849. She studied under Mlle Genevi?ve Granger, Mlle Darbefeille and Georges R?cipon. She exhibited four plaquettes in 1905 at the Salon des Artistes Fran?ais and several medals in 1906 and at the 1924 Olympics. She was the daughter of fencing master Charles Gustave Robert and wife of another, ?mile M?rignac. Her nephew Lucien M?rignac won the gold medal in the 1900 Olympic Foil Masters event. Robert-M?rignac, died at Paris on February 28 1933.
