At the age of seventeen he entered l??cole Nationale Sup?rieur des Beaux-Arts. In 1868 he won second prix de Rome for medal engraving and the first Grand Prix de Rome in 1872. He exhibited regularly at the Salon. He was made an officer of the L?gion d?honneur in 1898. Daniel-Dupuis died tragically in 1899, when he was killed by his wife, who had a history of mental illness. she then turned the gun on herself.
