Marie-Alexandre Coudray was born in 1864. He studied at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieure des Beaux-Arts and was a student of Dumont, Thomas, Allouard and Ponscarme. In 1893 he won the Premier Grand Prix de Rome for medal engraving. In 1898 he won a first prize at the Salon and a silver medal at the Universal Exposition. Coudray died in 1932.

Godefroid Devreese was one of Belgium’s most prolific medallists. He was born at Courtrai in 1861. He studied sculpture under his father and later at the Academy of Brussels. In 1885 he won the second Grand Prix de Rome. In 1889 he won the first Grand Prix for sculpture at the Academy of Brussels and a gold medal at the International Exposition in Cologne. ? ? Hippolyte Lef?bvre, sculptor and medallist was born in Lille in 1863. He studied at the Acad?mie des Beaux-Arts in Lille, where he won first prizes in drawing and sculpture. He later entered the ?cole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he won numerous prizes. He exhibited at the Salon and won the Grand Prix de Rome in sculpture in 1892. At the 1900 Universal Exposition, he won gold medals for medals that he exhibited. Lef?bvre died in 1935.
