Paul Vincze (1907-1994)the son of a Jewish father and Roman Catholic mother was born in Hungary. He studied at the High School of Arts and Crafts in Budapest and later in the studio of E. Telcs. In 1935 he won a scholarship to study in Rome. In 1937 he moved to England and eventually became a British citizen. He worked out of a studio in Chelsea, but later moved to the south of France, where he died. He is noted for an extensive body of medals.

Nearly extremely fine. $125. ——— L?on-Claude Mascaux (1882-1965) was born in Saine-Germain-en-Lay (Yvelines). He studied under the sculptors Landowski and Bouchard. He first exhibited at the Salon of the Soci?t? des Beaux Arts in 1921 and won a bronze medal in 1924. In the following year he won a Grand Prix at the Exposition des Arts D?oratifs et Industriels Moderns. Unlike his contemporaries, he eschewed the reducing machine and cut his models directly into the plaster in the actual size of his intended medals. His medals typically reflect a strong Art Deco style.

Sorry, SOLD. ———– Ernesta Robert-M?rignac, sculptor and medallist was born at Saint-Omer on August 25 1849. She studied under Mlle Genevi?ve Granger, Mlle Darbefeille and Georges R?cipon. She exhibited four plaquettes in 1905 at the Salon des Artistes Fran?ais and several medals in 1906 and at the 1924 Olympics. She was the daughter of fencing master Charles Gustave Robert and wife of another, ?mile M?rignac. Her nephew Lucien M?rignac won the gold medal in the 1900 Olympic Foil Masters event. Robert-M?rignac, died at Paris on February 28 1933.
