He won the second grand prix de Rome for medal engraving. We was a soci?taire des Artistes Fran?ais. He won a second class medal at the salon in 1880, a second class medal in 1890, and a first class medal in 1893. He was made a chevalier de la L?gion d’Honneur in 1906. Borrel died in 1927.
