Henri-Nicolas Legendre, sculptor, was born at Tritteling (Moselle) on October 22 1898. His artistic ambitions were interrupted by World War I. He was a student of Jean-Antoine Injalbert and Auguste Carli at l?E?cole des Beaux-Arts de Paris from 1923 to 1929. He won various awards including a gold medal for La Jeune Fille a` la Colombe (Girl with a Dove) at the Salon in 1934. Legendre traveled to Greece Italy and Antilles, where he created a number of works, which he displayed on his return. He designed several medals and plaquettes. Legendre died in 1978
