Robert Coutre, sculptor and medallist, was born in 1915. He studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He was a student of Dropsy, Bouchard and Wlérick. He won the second Grand Prix de Rome in medal engraving. He exhibited frequently and won several prizes.
