Sorry, SOLD (September, 2021) ——— Jules-Cl?ment Chaplain (1839-1909) was born at Mortagne. He entered the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 1857. He studied under the sculptor, Jouffroy, and Eugene-Andr? Oudin?, the medallist. He won the first prize at the Concours de Rome in 1862. He studied in Italy from 1864 to 1868. Cahplain was elected to the Acad?mie des Beaux-Arts in 1881 and became an officer of the L?gion d’Honneur in 1888.
