He was a student at the ?cole des Beaux-Arts at Dijon and later at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rior des Beaux-Arts de Paris. He won a second Grand Prix de Rome in sculpture in 1935. He received a mention in the Salon des Artistes Fran?ais in 1928 and bronze medal in 1931. Ridet died in 1967.

Maurice Delannoy was born on March 11, 1885, in Paris.  He studied at the École Germain Pilon under Charles Valton and Jules Édouard Roiné. He became a professor of drawing and worked as a medallisst and sculptor. He designed coins for Morocco, Monaco and Lebanon, and a considerable number of medals. Delannoy was made a Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in 1947. He died in Paris on April 26, 1972.

1970 (date awarded), France. ORDRE NATIONAL DES EXPERTS COMPATABLES ET DES COMPTABLES AGRÉÉS. By Henry Dropsy. Silver (edge stamped 1ARGENT) 60mm. Cased. $150. Sorry, SOLD (June, 2024)

Henry Dropsy was born in Paris on January 21, 1885, into a family of sculptors.  He learned his craft under his father Jean-Baptiste Émile Dropsy. He later studied at l’École Supérieure des Beaux Arts. He was a professor of medal engraving at the school for many years. Dropsy became a member of the Institut in 1942 and a member of the Commission Administrative and of the Commission du Dictionaire. He created many medals. A large collection of his work is held at the Monnaie de Paris, which put on a special exhibition of his medals in 1964, the catalogue for which remains a standard reference. His earliest works are in the art nouveau style. His style evolved considerably over his long career. Dropsy died at Veneux-Les-Sablon on November 2, 1969.

René Lalique was born in Ay, Marne on April 6, 1860. When he was twelve, he entered the Collège Turgot where he learned drawing and sketching. He attended evening classes at the École des Arts Décoratifs from 1874–1876. He then moved to England, where he spent two years at the Crystal Palace School of Art in Sydenham. Lalique practiced as an apprentice goldsmith to leading Parisian art nouveau jeweller and goldsmith, Louis Aucoc. He began his career as a jewellery apprentice at the age of 16, and by 1881 he was working as a freelance designer for Boucheron, Cartier and other Parisian jewellers. He opened his own workshop on Place Gaillon in Paris in 1885. He is best known for his glasswork, but created jewellery, hood ornaments,and other works of art, including a few medals.  Lalique died in Paris on 1 May 1945.

He studied at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris, and in the studios of Ponscarme and Peter. In the course of his career he received numerous honors and became a Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur. Monier died in 1970.
