Paul-Marcel Dammann, sculptor and medallist was born on June 13, 1885, at Montgerm. He studied under Chaplain. In 1908 he won the Premier Grand Prix de Rome for medal engraving. In 1928 he won a medal of honor at the Salon and was made a Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in the following year. He designed a number of coins for foreign governments. Dammann died in 1939.

The Monnaie exhibited his work in 1976.

Pierre Turin was born in Sucy-en-Brie (Val-de-Marne) on 3 August, 1891. He trained as a steel engraver and became a student at the École Nationale Supèrieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. He studied medal engraving under Henri Auguste Jules Patey and Fréderic-Charles Victor de Vernon. He participated several times in the competition for the Grand Prix de Rome for medal engraving, receiving a deuxième second Grand Prix in 1914, a premier second Grand Prix in 1919 and finally winning the competition in 1920. He had a distinguished career as a medalist and designer of coins. He is noted for his many works with a bold, Art Deco style, in particular the prize medal from the 1925 Exposition Internationale Des Arts Decoratifs Et Industriels Moderns in Paris. In 1938 he was made a Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur. Turin died on July 25, 1968 in Sucy-en-Brie, where he had been born.

He won the first prize at the Concours de Rome in 1862. He studied in Italy from 1864 to 1868. Cahplain was elected to the Acad?mie des Beaux-Arts in 1881 and became an officer of the L?gion d’Honneur in 1888.

Sorry, SOLD (December, 2023) ————- Fran?ois-Paul (Paul) Niclausse was born on May 26, 1879, at Metz (then annexed to the German Empire following the Franco-Prussian Wat). He studied at the ?cole des Beaux-Arts de Paris under Ponscarme and Gabriele-Jules Thomas and later joined the faculty as a professor. He was elected as a member of the Acad?mie des Beaux-Arts and became a Soci?taire of the Salon des Artistes Fran?ais, where he received an honorable mention in 1898 and a bronze medal in 1900. Niclausse was eventually made a chevalier de la L?gion d’honneur. He died at Paris on November 1, 1958.
