Raoul Eugène Lamourdedieu (1877-1953) was born at Faugerolles (Lot-et-Garonne). He studied at the École des Beaux Arts at Bordeaux. He won the Prix de la Ville de Bordeaux at the age of twenty. He moved to Paris and studied at the École des Beaux Arts. Be became a professor at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, a member of La Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts and of the Salon d’Automne. He created numerous medals and sculpture in carved wood and other materials.

He won many awards and was a regular exhibitor at the Salon d?Automne. Descomps was made a chevalier of la L?gion d?Honneur. He died in Paris on April 24, 1950.

OBVERSE: An angel rising before Reims Cathedral in flames with shells flying above. $375. ————- Charles Victor Peter was born at Paris on December 20 1940. He studied art over the objections of his parents. He was a pupil of S?bastien Cornu, Fran?ois Th?odore Devaulx and Alexandre Falgui?re. He exhibited at the Salon and won a medal in 1879. He won a gold medal at the Universal Exposition of 1900. Peter worked in various media, but specialized in sculpture and medallic art. As a medallist, Peter is best known for his depictions of animals. He became professor of sculptur at the ?cole Nationale Sup?rieur des Beaux-Arts in 1901 and was made a chevalier of the L?gion d’Honneur. Peter died on March 20 1918.
