He studied at the École Germain Pilon under Charles Valton and Jules Édouard Roiné. He became a professor of drawing and worked as a medallist and sculptor. He designed coins for Morocco, Monaco and Lebanon, and a considerable number of medals. Delannoy was made a Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in 1947. He died in Paris on April 26, 1972.

Léon-Ernst Drivier was born in Grenoble on October 22, 1878. He studied at l’École des Beaux-Arts de Paris after which he collaborated for a time with Rodin. He worked as both a painter and sculptor and created a number of medals. He sculpted several public works and he is well represented in museums in France and in some overseas. Drivier died in Paris in 1951

1963, France. 800TH ANNIVERSARY OF NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL. By Henry Dropsy. Bronze 68mm. $80. ———— Jean-Baptiste Daniel-Dupuis (1848-1899), French painter, sculptor and medallist entered l’École Nationale Supérieur des Beaux-Arts at the age of seventeen. In 1868 he won the second Prix de Rome for medal engraving and the first Grand Prix de Rome in 1872. He exhibited regularly at the Salon. In 1898 he was made an officer of the Légion d’Honneur. Daniel-Dupuis died tragically in 1899, when he was shot in his sleep by his wife, who had a history of mental illness. His wife then turned the gun on herself and committed suicide. Daniel-Dupuis created an extensive body of medallic works.
