Jules France was born in 1920. He studied at l??cole des Beaux-Art de Valenciennes from 1936-1939. He then entered the l??cole Nationale Sup?rieur des Beaux-Arts. In 1946 he became proefesseur de d?coration at l? ?cole des Metier d?Art de Paris. He is known particularly for his medal ?Femmes ? Leur Toilette,” which won the Prix de Rome for medal engraving in 1948. Other medals by France mostly relate to the towns of northern France.
