1887, Great Britain. FIRST DESIGN FOR THE 1887 JUBILEE COINAGE. By Sir J.E. Boehm. AE. One of 12 casts from the original. AE 120mm. Uniface. Obv: Crowned, veiled bust, left.Mounted under glass in a gilt frame. The back of the frame bears a hand-written inscription. The paper on the back of the frame has been ripped, presumably by someone attempting to examine the medal. In the course of his career he received numerous honors and became a Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur. Monier died in 1970.
