He studied medal engraving under Henri Dubois. He won various awards during his distinguished career and was made a Chevalier of the L?gion d?Honneur in 1929. Dautel died in 1954

Extremely fine. $175 ? Sorry, SOLD ? Fr?deric-Charles Victor de Vernon, sculptor and medallist was born at Paris in 1858. He studied under Jules Cavelier, Chaplain and Tasset. He exhibited at the Salon and won a third prize in 1884 and the Prix de Rome in 1887. In 1900 he won a gold medal at the Universal Exposition and was made a Chavalier of the L?gion d?Honneur. Vernon died in 1912.
