Rev: “BOIS DURCI” stamped in raised letter. Original loop for hanging. Extremely fine. $225 . Sorry, SOLD Bois Durci a dark wood-like material that is made from finely ground wood mixed with a binder, such as egg or blood albumen. ?It was patented, in Paris in 1855, by Lepage and was used to make various decorative items, including medallions, at two factories in France, until about 1927. Objects made from bois durci were created in steel molds and compressed whilst being heated by steam.
