Claude Schurr, painter, was born in 1921. He studied at l??cole Nationale Sup?rieur des Beaux Arts de Paris. He exhibited Salons des Ind?pendents and became a juror. Over his career won several prizes and scholarships. In 1952 he was appointed professor at l?Acad?mie Julian. His primary medium was painting, but he experimented with other mediums, including medallic art. He was made a chevalier des Arts et Lettres and received the Italian Order of Merit.
