He studied under , Henri-Michel-Antoine Chapu and Jules-Cl?ment Chaplain. He won the premier Grand Prix de Rome for medal engraving in 1890. He became a soci?taire des Artistes Fran?ais in 1898. In 1900 he won a silver medal at the Universal Exposition. He won a medal of honor in 1923. He was made a chevalier of the L?gion d’Honneur. Pillet died in 1960 ?
